A still life transforms from realistic to abstraction - on a cold grey January day I found some roses at the supermarket and arranged them at the other end of my studio with a favorite orange lamp, some artificial oranges, some burgundy ribbon in front of a window looking south. I needed some bright color and used it lavishly. I also felt that experimenting with the composition would lead me somewhere unique and beautiful.
