This painting evolved from a still life arrangement in my studio. It was January and grey. I bought some roses at the supermarket and arranged them at the other end of the studio with some oranges , a red satin ribbon near my favorite lamp. I moved all the equipment; easel , table. palette cart and all my plants to the other end of the studio. After a couple of sessions laying down the composition, I began abstracting and experimenting with the structure and color. I loved the way the elements came together in a playful puzzle.
