I set up a still life with both real and fake daffodils because it was March in upstate NY. Working through the process, surprises happened, as they do when using thin, watery glazes. I used a plethora of yellows from Old Holland, Williamsburgh and Gamblin - Nickel Yellow, Cadmium Yellow Deep, Cobalt Yellow, to name a few. Daffodils are a shout out to leave winter behind and I'm so glad Spring is here. It's a happy painting!
